Paul Aarts is senior lecturer in international relations at the University of Amsterdam. He is cofounder of ZemZem, a Dutch magazine focusing on the Middle East and North Africa, and coauthor of Saudi Arabia in the Balance: Political Economy, Society, Foreign Affairs.
